The lovely and knowledgeable Elisha Reverby, founder of Elique Organics, explains why she incorporated Cistus Ladaniferus—or for us laymen (as in me)—Rock Rose, into her formulas.  I’m so glad she did!

What are the skin-loving benefits of Cistus Ladaniferus, a.k.a. Rock Rose?

Refined and softened tone. Cistus beautifies and plumps the skin and is a powerful anti-wrinkle treatment when used consistently at least twice daily. It is also a very effective styptic making it a perfect aftershave. It is a wonderful treatment for cleaning wounds and healing new scar tissue. Also, when used internally post-op, it speeds internal healing and prevents further bleeding.

What product(s) includes this ingredient?

Taut and our Pampered pH Winter Custom Blend.

What results can you expect to see?

It is the combination of ingredients: Black Tea, Green Tea, German Chamomile, Avocado Oil, and Frankincense, as well as Cistus, that make this cream so effective, but definitely they all work together and are all important and essential to the overall product.

What customers are saying about it…

Taut has been called magic by die hard users who have been loyal to it for years.

Bonus question: Name one product that you can’t live without. (Just for fun, cuz we all want to know!)

Elique product? My Pampered pH Bulgarian Rose or Geranium which my skin especially connects to. Hydrosols are magical on the skin and are the missing link to radiant skin for life!

Other Product? Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm, Goe Oil and Priti NYC Soy Polish Remover.

The Edible Facial Take on Elique Organics and Taut

Let me say that from interacting with Elisha over email and other social media, it’s clear that she puts her heart and soul into her products and into her customers.  Honestly, both are equally important and make a HUGE difference between a product that is good and one that is great.

Just this year she left her business as a salon owner to focus exclusively on Elique Organics and to develop the range.  It certainly helps when someone who creates a beauty and skin care line knows about skin.  And she does.

To that end, her products are finely crafted from superior sources using a lovely selection of potent ingredients—not least of which is one of my favorites, the powerhouse—honey.  That’s especially true in the winning mask/cleanser Sweet Rose Hips.  Oh yes!  It’s as divine as it sounds and is probably my favorite of the line.

Honey isn’t the only powerhouse in these products.  They don’t carry the title: “Complete Skin Nutrition” for nothing!  Avocado oil (fantastic moisturizer and full of vitamins), Rose Hips (high in vitamin C and healing properties), Vitamin E (heals scars), and frankincense (ancient beautifying oil) round out most of the formulas.

Elisha generously sent me a box filled with a samples of many of her products.  For the winter, Taut and Whipped work nicely for my skin, though I’m not sure how they will fare in summer, to be honest.  They add a protective layer that’s great at night before going to sleep with drying heat blasting, or if I am going to be faced with harsh wind outside.  Very little goes a long way with these creams.

Elisha recommends spraying your face with one of her Pampered pH waters first, and I quite agree. This allows better absorption of the product and it glides on quicker.

I’m a sucker for packaging and a great name too.  Whipped? I mean—come on!  I just want to cover myself in it.  Taut?  Bring it!  Who doesn’t want eyes that are taut, firm, and hydrated?  Anyone? Anyone?  Didn’t think so.

If you’re oily even in winter, I’m not sure these will be for you, though they are meant for most skin types.  They’re a bit richer than I’m used to, so as I said, use sparingly.  This will also make the product last longer.

Smooth is another winner for me and a lighter serum.  The sample size came with a roller-ball.  I really dig those as a way of dispensing product. The regular size comes as a dropper, so I’m loving my roller while it lasts!

Thank you so much Elisha for sharing your knowledge for The Savvy Naturalista on my blog!
